Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameynag has released an angry statement after pulling out of Gabon’s squad with an injury.
Gabon will face Mali this weekend and Aubameyang had a hope of captaincy but the 29-year-old attacker will play no part in the African Nations Cup qualifier.
Aubameyang has hit out at the Federation after he was withdrawn from the squad.
Responding to journalist Freddhy Koula on Twitter, Aubameyang said: ‘It’s weird that the football federation immediately publishes that a player cannot come [for national duty] for other reasons after they received an email from my doctor but still has not posted on it for more than 24 hours. ‘You say that Aubameyang declined as if I had refused to come for another reason’.

If Aubameyang is indeed injured, it will add to a list of concerns for Unai Emery after Alexandre Lacazette also withdrew from France’s squad with a problem.
