Arsenal new manager Unai Emery’s era is underway and now his side is going to face Manchester City in the opening match of 2018/19 season.
The match is expected to be a tough one as Emery is facing Pep Guardiola – a man he has never beaten in his career.
Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts has named the line-up against Guardiola.
So, let’s see who’s going to play:
Bernd Leno
Arsenal were keen to replace 36-year-old Petr Cech and now they have a new choice and they will start season with new signing Bernd Leno.
Hector Bellerin
Bellerin will start the season as first choice right-back at the Emirates though Arsenal have brought in Switzerland international right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer.
Sokratis
Former Borussia Dortmund player will add some experience to the defence following the loss of Per Mertesacker
Shkodran Mustafi
Mustafi will also be given a chance to impress under Emery.
Nacho Monreal
The Spaniard had a fine season last time out and he will definitely be in first team.
Lucas Torreira
The Uruguay international is closing in on a move to the Emirates, with Arsenal hoping the deal could be finalised soon.
Granit Xhaka
There have been suggestions that Xhaka could be the player to miss out following Torreira's arrival, but he is expected to be a part of the first choice starting XI.
Aaron Ramsey
Emery is determined to convince Ramsey to stay, the player wanted to approve his terms. Anyway. Ramsey will line-up against Manchester City on the opening weekend of the season.
Mesut Ozil
Despite failure at World Cup 2018 when Germany couldn’t go out of the group stage, Ozil remains Arsenal one of best players and expectations are high from him.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenia international is going to be a big player for Arsenal this season, we saw that in his performances from January onwards.
Mkhitaryan is an excellent player who will prove to be a real threat going forward.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang should score plenty next season, given what we saw towards the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
