Premier League clubs set to discuss deadline day of transfer window

Premier League clubs will meet next month to discuss transfer deadline issues, as reported by Sky Sports. For the first time, the transfer window has been closed at 5 pm on August 8, 24 hours before the opening match of 2019/20 season between Liverpool and Norwich City. Several managers, including Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino have raised this issue, mentioning the difference between Premier League and other European league clubs. Barcelona, Juventus, Paris-Saint Germain and other European tops could make transfers until September 2, while Premier League clubs might not find replacement for their leaders and star players in case they leave after the deadline day. Mauricio Pochettino is the manager who is now most worried for this, as Spurs could lose Christian Eriksen and not have chance to buy a replacement. Jurgen Klopp also questioned the change of deadline day, also referring to the advantage other clubs take over English sides. The first discussion is scheduled on 12th of September, as further discussions could take place before coming up with a final decision. Source - Sky Sports
