Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen assured Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in the past that he would never go to another English club, according to
Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old made the promise in 2017 when he was being linked with Chelsea.
Eriksen has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United but therefore he is seeking a transfer abroad, with Real Madrid being his first-choice option.
The Danmark international first announced his intentions to move after the Champions League final, he told Ekstra Bladet: "
I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new.
"I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham, nor will it be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new."
