Paul Merson believes Leeds United would have immediately appointed David Moyes if he got sacked by West Ham.
The club's current form puts the Scottish manager under a lot of pressure and if the coach desires to remain at the London outfit he needs to make some changes right away.
According to the Sky Sports pundit, the Hammers should trust and stick with the 59-year-old as he is the proper man who could turn the situation upwards.
However, West Ham are currently battling in the relegation zone following their poor Premier League run and if Moyes fails to improve the results the team will seek a replacement with Rafael Benitez and Mauricio Pochettin being the potential options.
Writing on Sky Sports, Merson admitted that if the Londoners sacked their boss league rival Leeds United would've hijacked him.
“It would be one of the biggest shocks in football if West Ham get relegated with David Moyes in charge – he’s thick-skinned and he’s got the experience to get them out of trouble.
“If Moyes got sacked tomorrow morning Leeds would walk over broken glass to go and get him in. You’ve got to put it in perspective. Leeds would have him in tomorrow morning. It’s a no-brainer.”
