QPR manager labels Chelsea youngster 'future world-class player' after 7-1 friendly defeat

QPR manager Mark Warburton believes Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has an ideal environment to become a world-class midfielder under Frank Lampard. Billy Gilmour and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both scored two goals in the big victory. Frank Lampard’s side brushed aside the Championship side, with goals from Mason Mount, Willian, Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud putting the Blues up 4-1 half-time lead. QPR boss Warburton who also coached Gilmour at Rangers believes the teenager has the potential to be an elite midfielder at Chelsea. He told the Daily Mail: “What a talent. I think Scotland have a future world-class midfield player, I really do. I think he is going to keep on improving because he is in a great environment with Frank (Lampard) and Jody (Morris, assistant manager) and the players at Chelsea. I very much hope he can continue that progress because, if so, Scotland truly will have a world-class midfield player there.” Source: thechelseachronicle
