Nordin Amrabat has admitted that his brother Sofyan Amrabat was so close to joining Tottenham Hotspur last January.
The 26-year-old is currently living his World Cup dream in Qatar. Walid Regragui's men qualified for the Round of 16 as Group F leaders with seven points for the first time in 30 years to become the second African team to do so after Senegal.
Fiorentina star is getting his international breakthrough this World Cup being one of the midfielders in the competition so far.
With the rumors of Spurs reigniting their interest to sign the Serie A gem, his brother and former Morocco international revealed that Sofyan was so close to making a move to Premier League.
“I am really incredibly proud of Sofyan,” says former Watford winger Nordin. “If you play so well on such a stage, then you have a lot to offer.
“I think that the top clubs in Europe that have been sleeping have now been shocked. In January, Sofyan was already around Tottenham Hotspur, but there was no agreement on the transfer fee with Fiorentina. I think the interested (clubs) will now be queuing up.” stated the ex-Malaga winger via HITC.
