La Liga champions Barcelona played against Europa League winners Chelsea in the pre-season Reakuten Cup match. Ernesto Valverde's side suffered 2-1 defeat. A goal in each half-from Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley punctuated a decent game by Frank Lampard’s side before Ivan Rakitic guided home a beautiful consolation for Barcelona. Antoine  Griezmann made his debut for Barcelona, while Frenkie De Jong started on the bench and played only in the second half.
