Ray Parlour thinks Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is “not the greatest of players” but claims he is a key player in the team.
The 25-year-old joined Spurs last summer for £15million from Southampton. Since then he has established himself as one of the first-team starters under Jose Mourinho.
Parlour has acknowledged the Denmark international's work with the Lilywhites, however, taking a slight dig on the midfielder.
“Sometimes don’t go for the best players, go for the people that are going to make a difference,” he told talkSPORT.
“Look at Hojbjerg what he’s done for Spurs. He’s not the greatest of players, but he does a great job. Sometimes you need players like that in a team to get the best out of the other players.”
