Deontay Wilder rejected the chance to fight Anthony Joshua because he didn’t know how much his rival would earn.
Wilders co-manager Shelly Finkel told Los Angeles Times: “We asked how much is Joshua getting, and we were never told the answer.
"What they offered sounded good, but it might not sound so good if the other guy is getting double or triple it, and we never knew what that number was."
Wilder will face Breazeale on May 18 in New York while Joshua will defend his belts against Jarrell Miller on June 1.
