Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo shared a mutual “respect” during their time together at Red Bull, according to team principal Christian Horner.
"There was a momentum and respect between the two that meant they kept pushing each other to the limit," Horner told German outlet RTL.
"It has been an honour to have [Ricciardo] on the team for the past five years. We never worried about Daniel's pace. Now he is one of the best drivers in the field when it comes to overtaking manoeuvres. He has produced fantastic races. His personality was also a perfect match for our brand."
Verstappen and Ricciardo will go head-to-head when the Australian Grand Prix kicks off the 2019 F1 season next March.
