Reliable journalist claims Newcastle United target trio of signings

Newcastle United have a tight three-week window to finalize preparations before the Premier League begins.

With the Champions League group stages following closely, the club is eager to wrap up their summer transfer dealings promptly.

While the signing of Harvey Barnes from Leicester City appears to be nearing completion, there have been differing opinions regarding Southampton's stance on selling Tino Livramento to the Magpies.

Therefore, talkSPORT's Alex Crook suggests that the Saints won't be open to letting their start depart this summer is reluctant.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports' Pete Graves holds a more optimistic view, believing that the 20-year-old will eventually join Eddie Howe's side.

“They’re still in the market for more. Livramento will come in. He’s someone Eddie Howe sees as a right-back, if something happened to Kieran Trippier, and he can also play at left-back as well. He’s very versatile,” he said on the Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast.

“I don’t think Newcastle are finished there. They are discussing potential loan-to-buy moves as well, as a way they can get around financial fair play.

“So, I do think, after Harvey Barnes, there’ll be definitely one, but potentially two or three more arrivals for the first-team at Newcastle.”

The club is keen to secure their targets swiftly to ensure a strong squad ahead of their domestic and Champions League commitments.
