Arsenal have extended youngster Charlie Patino's contract until 2025 following the interest in the midfielder.
After a successful season-long loan spell at Blackpool, the 19-year-old's contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, Therefore, the Gunners were desperate to keep him from leaving on a free transfer.
The rising star made his senior debut for the North Londoner during the 5-1 win over Sunderland last year, where he scored the final, fifth goal of the clash.
However, according to GOAL, Mikel Arteta's side are on the verge to offer a contract renewal to Patino’s contract until 2025. The report claims that Arsenal were keen to extend his current contract to fend off widespread interest from other clubs.
With Arsenal using the option to extend Patino’s deal, the teenager won’t be given new terms but the club is ready to offer a long-term contract after guaranteeing the player will remain with the team until the end of the campaign.
