The list of Golden Boy nominees for 2018 has been almost halved. European football’s brightest talents are competing to claim the prestigious award, which has previously been won by the likes of Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Raheem Sterling, Isco and Paul Pogba.
The shortlist has been cut from 100 names down to 40 as the world’s best young star is set to be crowned.
The Premier League is represented by four names; Liverpool starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold, Everton's Tom Davies, Manchester City whizkid Phil Foden and Manchester United's £19million new boy, Diego Dalot.
