REVEALED: How much each Premier League club loses because of illegal streaming

According to the study, conducted by American sponsorship valuation firm GumGum Sports and MUSO (London-based digital piracy agency), Premier League clubs lose £1 m for each game because of illegal streaming platforms all over the world.  Analysts and researchers have taken a sample of 8 matches and found out that on average, 7.1 m viewers watch EPL games via illegal channels.  Geographic distribution makes Chinese audience leader (1 m viewers for one game on average). Vietnam, Kenya, India and Nigeria are also among the leading countries, having “illegal audience”. GumGum Sports vice president Jeff Kaltz has spoken out on this situation (via Daily Mail): “Clubs and sponsors have never been able to quantify media exposure from unauthorised streaming, which over the years amounts to billions of dollars in unrealised value” “Now we have a unique data set that gives an advantage to brand sponsors while also enabling clubs to better demonstrate the value they're driving on behalf of corporate partners.” he added.  Source - Daily Mail
