Football has gradually evolved into a colossal money business that generates incredible revenue all over the world.
Gareth Bale will leapfrog Lionel Messi to become the best-paid player in the world should he sign the £1million-a-week deal on the table from China.
The 30-year-old is set to be offered £1m-a-week from an unnamed Chinese Super League side. Should Bale pocket the proposed £1m per week, it would make him then highest-paid footballer ever - eclipsing Messi's monster £900,000-a-week mark.
Cristiano Ronaldo currently sits second with his £850,000 weekly wages at Juventus - ahead of Barcelona new-boy Antoine Griezmann (£725,000).
