Brazil legend Roberto Carlos has made a shock admisson over Liverpool's Alisson and Manchester City's Ederson. The former footballer has praised Alisson but admitted he prefers Ederson.
Alisson and Ederson both play for the Brazil national team, however, Alisson starts over Ederson in the Copa America.
“Alisson is an incredible goalkeeper. When he left Roma, people said it was a lot of money for a goalkeeper but Alisson is a great goalkeeper and has shown it for Brazil and the Brazil national team," said Carlos.
“He deserves all the prizes. When I see on television that a Brazilian goalkeeper plays for Liverpool I feel very proud. Now he is a Champions League winner too. He is a great professional.”
“At least we are changing this view of only forwards playing for European teams but you saw Ederson starting in Portugal and Alisson playing at Roma first," he added.
“We are creating new good goalkeepers and there are many more coming through. I like Alisson because he is tall and has good positioning but Ederson can play in any position – goalkeeper, centre-back, midfielder – he has great quality.
“So I am sorry Alisson, but to me Ederson is a bit better because he plays better with his feet.
“Alisson has won the Champions League and Ederson didn't get there with City which makes Alisson very happy and that has to motivate Ederson to be an even better keeper.”
The upcoming Copa America game is against Peru on Saturday. Currently Brazil are leading the Group A with 4 points.
