Ron Atkinson praises Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over three Manchester United stars

Ron Atkinson has praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over three Manchester United stars. The ex-United boss finds the transfer fees in today's market 'staggering' but believes Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes have all proven themselves to be good signings. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it clear he wanted a strong core of British players when he took over the reins from Jose Mourinho. Atkinson reckons ‘much too much money’ is being spent on the likes of Wan Bissaka and Maguire, he’s been impressed by the English duo and claims Fernandes has ‘made all the difference’ since joining. "I find it amazing when someone says, “Go and sign a reserve player for £30million” – you could buy a small town for that!" Atkinson, who managed the Red Devils from 1981-1986, told beIN SPORTS. "I find it staggering. I think people in positions now that are buying players are not what I’d call out and out football people. I think football people talk to football people and get a better valuation. It may need somebody… whether it’s Manchester United. They’ve gone out with a different way of buying but it’s still costing them a lot of money to buy good players. I think the signings Solskjaer has made have been good. "Wan Bissaka I think is a good player, I think Harry Maguire is a good player. Not worth the money. Much too much money for them but that’s the market. ‘And I think the kid Bruno Fernandes has made all the difference." Source: Metro
