Sadio Mane has expressed thoughts about his Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk.
Speaking to the club's official website, Mane said it’s “amazing” to have one of the best defenders in the world back in the squad.
“Having one of the best defenders in the world back on your team, you don’t need to describe it – it’s amazing,” Mane said.
The Reds winger also spoke of how the Netherlands star is “always smiling” now that he’s back in action.
“Last year was obviously a tough time for him but now he’s always smiling! And, of course, we are all happy for him.
“He is a very professional athlete who looks after his body all the time and I wasn’t surprised to see him straight back into his old form.
“We have seen him play a few games now and, for me, we have seen him at that level already.”
Jurgen Klopp's team had a difficult season last time with key players' injuries and Van Dijk’s long-term absence.
The centre-back is currently on international duty and he captained the Dutch team to a 1-1 draw with Norway on Wednesday.
