Arsenal have been linked with Sampdoria’s midfielder Lucas Torreira for weeks and according to the latest news, the deal is done and only an official announcement is to be made.
Last week Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero announced:
"Torreira has left for €30million," he said. "I bought him from Pescara when no one believed. We bet and we won, paying just €3million.
"The money that comes in is used to keep the club going."
The 22-year-old is now focused on the World Cup with Uruguay, but when the tournament is over his future will be known to everyone as it’s just a matter of time.
Sampdoria's Sporting Director Carlo Osti has also confirmed that Torreira is on his way to Arsenal:
"I'm looking forward to the first meeting to plan the market, after Torreira to take another director Tomorrow we have the first meeting with Giampaolo, that's why tomorrow the market will start A strong player like Torreira has gone away," Osti told Sky Sport,
