Al-Ittihad clinched the Saudi Pro League title for the first time since 2009. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo's first season in Saudi Arabia will end without a trophy as his team, Al Nassr, finished in second place.

Saudi Pro League Promotion/Relegation

Starting from the upcoming season the number of teams will be increased to 18.

As a result, instead of the normal three, only two clubs would be demoted from the 2022-23 Saudi Professional League, while four teams would be promoted from the 2022-23 Saudi First Division League.

The four promoted clubs are Al-Ahli, Al-Hazem, Al-Okhdood, and Al-Riyadh. 

They took over for Al-Adalah and Al-Batin, who were relegated to the 2023-24 Yelo League.

Saudi Pro League 2023/24 - Gameweek 1: fixtures and results

Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Al Nassr became huge news in the football world as a number of top players like Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Ruben Neves and Jordan Henderson will continue their playing spell with the Saudi clubs. 

Last term Al-Ittihad were crowned as the champions of the domestic top competition for the first time since 2009. The competition for the name of the best is going to be even heater during the upcoming campaign.
