The five-time Ballon d'Or winner hinted that his time at Real Madrid has come to an end.
After Real won their 3rd consecutive Champions League title, Cristiano talked about him and the club in the past tense.
"Now to enjoy, and in the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that they are on my side, it was very nice to be in Madrid," he told BeIN Sport.
His comments reportedly left Real's captain furious and Ramos said to Ronaldo in the dressing room:
"It's not good what you've done, it was not the right moment to say it.You have to take a step back and we will help you.We are with you, but help yourself too".
This would explain why Ronaldo apologised in his next interview.
"A player's personal things aren't the most important thing now, it might have been taken out of context but maybe I shouldn't have said what I said. But when you are honest, sometimes you say things that you don’t mean to, but it’s something that’s been a long time coming.I’ll talk in a week when I am with the national team because I don’t want to take this top moment away from Real Madrid."
