Tottenham have made a huge breakthrough in contract negotiations with Troy Parrott, as report Football Insider.
Last month, Jose Mourinho's side have reportedly opened talks with the youngster over a new improved deal, in order to replace the one signed last February.
However, Spurs source has told Football Insider, that the club have afterwards made progress in talks with Parrott and are quite confident he will sign a long-term deal.
The North London club also had recently put a block on the 17-year-old's possible exit this January transfer window.
Spurs did not sign a new centre-forward in the recently-closed window, as of team talisman Harry Kane's injury, although they did bring in versatile winger Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven.
Parrott has has made two appearances for Tottenham and has already been capped by Republic of Ireland, providing an assist in a 3-1 friendly win over New Zealand.
