Steve Bruce plotting bid to take Chelsea star to Newcastle

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is plotting an ambitious loan move to sign Chelsea star Reece James. The 19-year-old has forced his way into Frank Lampard’s squad but will only get a few games because of the form of Cesar Azpilicueta. Bruce, meanwhile, is willing to give James the playing time at Newcastle for a few months and plans to put his case before the window opens. James spent last season on loan at Championship side Wigan.
