Steven Gerrard has delivered some information about January transfer window plans.
Besides the new potential deals, three other Aston Villa transfer deals have already been completed.
Keinan Davis joined Nottingham Forest on loan over the weekend, while Axel Tuanzebe has returned to Manchester United ahead of joining Napoli.
Wesley has also cut short his loan spell at Club Brugge and is close to a 12-month loan to S.C. International back in Brazil in order to play first-team football.
Speaking after Villa's 2-1 loss to Brentford, the head coach was asked about the transfer window.
"It's not going to be wholesale, but there are opportunities to strengthen," Gerrard responded.
The Claret & Blues have been linked with left-backs Nicolas Tagliafico (Ajax) and Aaron Hickey (Bologna), since it'd an area Gerrard wants to strengthen.
Centre-back also needs strengthening, meanwhile in midfield the void left by the injured Marvelous Nakamba will have to be filled.
