The Sun: Premier League clubs committed to a new date to finish the season

Premier League clubs want to finish the season by July 31. The season is currently on hold due to coronavirus pandemic. It was agreed that leagues will try to resume by June following a video conference between UEFA chiefs and Europe's 55 national associations on Tuesday. UEFA want domestic leagues to be completed before this season's Champions League and Europa League are resumed. Premier League clubs have backed the July 31 deadline for accomplishing their fixtures, according to The Sun. The publication quotes European Leagues president Lars Christer Olsson saying: “The ambition has been the end of July to finish domestic leagues, then we can try to play the final phase of European competitions in August. “There will have to be some flexibility from Uefa. But we remain confident the leagues can finish. Most countries will be able to do it, although it will have to be games played without fans.” Source: The Mirror Join us on Telegram!
