Thiago Silva makes decision on Chelsea contract renewal

  Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is set to sign a one-year contract extension with the Blues. Silva joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window on a one-year deal. He has been having an impressive season with the Premier League side as he has made 21 appearances in which he has scored two goals. However, Silva has been limited of playing time due to several injuries he suffered during this season. Chelsea have included a 12-month extension option in Silva’s initial deal but it required both sides to agree in order for it to be activated.
