Thibaut Courtois denies anxiety attack rumors

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has denied the talks of getting anxiety attack at the club. The 27-year-old moved from Chelsea to the Spanish club in 2018. Since now the Belgian player doesn’t seem to be a favourite one at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane never wanted Courtois in his squad. During this season the Belgian international has conceded 11 goals in his 8 appearances, which considers as bad result for the high-profile goalkeeper. The criticism towards the player even rose, when Courtois conceded 2 goals during the first half of the Champions League match against Club Brugge last month and was replaced by loanee Alphonse Areola at half-time. The Belgian International has responded to the anxiety attack talks, saying: "I know what it means to be an elite player. I'm very happy and I don't have anxiety problems. Responsibility from the media is required to not publish lies and nonsense about things like that because at the end of the day, there are people who really suffer from those problems. I think it's disrespectful to the player and to the people who are really suffering. I am happy and training hard and want to give the Real Madrid fans joy. The people at the Santiago Bernabeu are always a critical audience, we know that, and we will do everything so that they break out in applause." Courtois is now on international duty with his Belgium national team and will be on the action again on Sunday, in the EURO 2020 qualifier against Kazakhstan.
