Chelsea have signed seven players during the summer transfer window. They may have already drawn their future plans, but depending on how the first of the season goes for them, Marina Granovskaia may look to explore the market in January. Declan Rice have been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window, however, he remained at West Ham United. Fabrizio Romano recently stated that Chelsea intend to revive their interest and a January bid could be on the cards. Chelsea have scouted Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare last season, and if West ham were to play hardball over Rice, the 21-year-old could emerge as a genuine alternative, according to The Athletic. Soumare failed to secure a move away from Lille over the summer despite the French club’s president Gerard Lopez admitting that he would not stand in the player’s way. The third player, who could join Chelsea in the January transfer window is Bayern Munich star David Alaba. Alaba's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months with his contract due to expire in 2021. Chelsea explored the chance of signing the Austrian earlier this year.
