TMW: Liverpool 'make contact' over £70million Serie A defender

Liverpool have made contact with Napoli over long-time Manchester United transfer target Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Koulibaly has long been a target for United but Jurgen Klopp's side are also in need of defensive reinforcements. The Reds have proposed Napoli over a deal for the Serie A club's star defender. The Italian outlet says Napoli may have to sell Koulibaly due to the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.  Koulibaly has been a significant player at the Stadio San Paolo since joining in 2014.  French outlet Le10Sport, meanwhile, cliam Newcastle have offered Koulibaly a whopping £200,000 a week. Tottenham are also said to be interested. Indeed, Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Sports this week that Daniel Levy is close to Koulibaly’s agents and that he could be an important target for Spurs this summer.
