Toto Wolff defends Lewis Hamilton: “Many of the best sports stars, they polarise”

Five-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is an alienating character and Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has come out in defence of his driver. The Brit is not the most popular in his home country with many feeling he is fake. “For me many of the best sports stars in the world, they polarise," Wolff said as quoted by Motorsport.com. "You will have heard similar comments about Serena Williams. Half of the people love her and want her to win everything, and the other ones cheer for the opponents. And I think you'd rather polarise than be down the middle and boring. That's my opinion.”
