Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino provides Jan Vertonghen injury update
Tottenham’s head coach Mauricio Pochettino has told Football London that defender Jan Vertonghen picked up a slight injury issue during Tuesday’s clash with Red Star Belgrade, which forced him off the pitch.
Spurs managed to win 5-0 over Red Star, with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son netting twice and Erik Lamela – once.
"I think the future is the squad that we have. It's only that for different reasons we finished today in this way," Pochettino said. "Jan felt a little problem, not really a problem, but we didn't want to risk him to continue playing."
Pochettino’s squad are yet to face rivals Liverpool on Sunday in the frames of Premier League.
