Tottenham are interested in signing Benfica youngster Tomas Tavares for the summer transfer window, according to
Football.London.
Tavares pushed himself to Benfica's first team squad, making 26 appearances for the senior side and playing in five of their Champions League group games. The youngster has shown impressive performances, recording 2.3 suvcessful tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 0.8 successful dribbles, while his passing success rate was 82.2% (as per
WhoScored).
Now the report claims that Spurs have joined the race to sign the 19-year-old right-back along with Champions League quarter-finalists Atalanta.
Tavares can be considered as Serge Aurier's replacement at North London club, with the player being linked with Serie A side AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen.
