Tottenham provide injury update on Lamela, Vertonghen and Alli

Tottenham have some injury concerns regarding Hugo Lloris, Erik Lamela, Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli, ahead of upcoming Premier League clash with Sheffield United. Hugo Lloris: Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris was ruled out until January due to a dislocated elbow. He suffered the injury during the 3-0 loss against Brighton. The Frenchman has undergone surgery as the club official statement reads: "Following further clinical testing and examination, Hugo Lloris has now undergone surgery on his left elbow. Surgery was advised after further reviews by specialists found the elbow remained unstable. Our club captain remains on course to return to training in the early part of next year." Erik Lamela: Spurs winger sustained a thigh injury in training and missed recent Premier League matches with Liverpool and Everton and Champions League recent 4-0 win over Red Star as well. In a pre-match interview, last weekend Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino said he hoped it was not a big issue. Jan Vertonghen: Tottenham centre-back has also missed the last two matches due to an injury. He picked up a hamstring problem and Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez retained their places in the heart of defence against Liverpool, while Eric Dier was picked against Red Star. Giovani Lo Celso, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli were substituted in the second half against Red Star but for tactical reasons not due to injury. Tottenham’s upcoming clash will be against Sheffield United on Saturday in the frames of Premier League, following a 4-0 Champions League win against Red Star. Source- Football.london
