Tottenham have been heavily linked with a transfer move for Sporting Lison star Bruno Fernandes as a replacement for wantaway midfielder Christian Eriksen.
But Manchester United have also been interested in the player and according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claim Fernandes’ agent Miguel Pinho has returned from meeting United and Tottenham representatives in London, with both clubs making offers to sign the 24-year-old.
Sporting want £62million for Fernandes, but neither United or Spurs have met that asking price.
Should Fernandes have to chose between the two clubs, the Portugal international is drawn to the history and mystique of playing at Old Trafford.
