Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt has broken silence over his possible move to Manchester United and dismissed talks about huge offer from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Besides Manchester United, Barcelona have also targeted the Dutchman. They have reportedly agreed a €70m (£61.7m) transfer fee, but the move has been held up as the 19-year-old’s agent Mino Raiola demanded 20 per cent commission.
Now United are in pole position to sign De Ligt with a reported £350,000 a week salary.
But De Ligt has calmed down fans by saying that his future will be resolved ater Netherlands’ Nations League campaign next month.
"I have read the reports about Manchester United,"De Ligt told
FOX Sports.
"I have seen the salary I would get, too. Would you take it?’ ‘People should take these reports with a grain of salt. The stories are funny though. Everyone has been talking about my future for a year now. One day I will go there, and the next day I will go somewhere else."
