According to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Thomas Tuchel is "dreaming of" a player like Mateo Kovacic at his new club Bayern Munich.
The Chelsea star has been the third most-used midfielder under Tuchel's managery, displaying a remarkable performance on the pitch. Although Kovacic's contract with the London club expires in 2024, the ownership is yet to suggest an extension, according to the latest reports. However, this doesn't imply that the Blues do not want to keep the ambitious Croatian player.
Rumors suggest that ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is eyeing the 28-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window. However, this will be a challenging task for the German as his current club Bayern has plenty of skilled midfielders, like Thomas Muller, Jamal Musiala, Ryan Gravenberch and Leon Goretzka, whose positions are very similar to Kovacic's.
Whether Tuchel signs this exact player or not, the summer transfer window promises an opportunity or two for the 49-year-old to reunite with his former players.
