There are 16 teams in the draw: the eight runners-up from the Europa League group stage will be seeded; the eight third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage will be unseeded.

Is the Europa League knockout round play-off over two legs?
Matches occur in two legs, with the seeded teams playing their second legs at home.
It's important to note that the away goals rule has been eliminated. In the event of a tie after 180 minutes, extra time will be played regardless of the home and away goal count. If the teams remain level after the additional 30 minutes, the tie will be decided by a penalty shoot-out.
Can teams from the same country face each other in the Europa League knockout round play-off?
Teams are not permitted to be drawn against opponents from the same national association.
When is the Europa League knockout round play-off?
The first leg matches are set to take place on 15 February, followed by the second legs one week later on 22 February.
What happens next?
The victors from the eight matchups will advance to the round of 16, where they will be joined by the eight group winners from the Europa League. The draw for the next round is set for 23 February. Unfortunately, the teams that are defeated will be eliminated from the European competition for the 2023/24 season.
