Unai Emery appoints new player to 'captain group' amid Laurent Koscielny controversy

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has included Nacho Monreal in his group of players who will act as captain in the coming season. The Gunners’ captain Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel on the pre-season tour of the USA after the Gunners rejected his transfer request. Granit Xhaka is in pole position to replace him as the Arsenal captain. Emery said: "We are working now with the captains. They are Xhaka, Ozil and Nacho Monreal. I want to add two more and then I am going to decide the number one, two, three, four and five in the next weeks."
