Unai Emery makes Arsenal transfer statement after Hector Bellerin injury

Arsenal players’ injury problems are serious and Unai Emery has warned that it won’t be easy to solve those problems by dipping into transfer market in January. Uni Emery’s side ended their 22-game unbeaten run in the match against Southampton on Sunday as they lost 3-2. Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi got banned and Rob Holding and Sead Kolasinac sustained injuries so Emery was forced to field a patched up back three which included midfielder Granit Xhaka and right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner. But things  went even worse when Hector Bellerin limped off with a calf injury during the first half. Speaking after Sunday’s loss Emery admitted that bellerin will be forced to miss a few weeks and added that it won’t be easy to replace their injured players in January transfer market. “We don’t have a lot of possibilities,” said Arsenal’s head coach. “Maybe we can think of something to sign to help us, but only if we think the other players can’t help us with their performance. “It is not good for transfers in January for this reason, but we are going to look. “The club is working for this transfer in January. But we are in our way, our progress is with young players and we are giving them chances and when we need to give them more chances to play and show us his progress, we are going to do [that]. “But also for our demands, we need a high level in the squad.” When asked whether he has been assured there would be money to spend, Emery added: “It’s not easy. “I don’t believe a lot in this transfer window because it’s not a very big possibility with the players. “The club is working only if some player can help us with a high level or better [than we have] within for us.”
