Unai Emery is under pressure to offload the club's highest earner Mesut Ozil as Arsenal have financial issues after failing to qualify for the Champions League for the third consecutive season.
The Gunners lost Chelsea 4-1 in the Europe League final which means that they lost their final chance to qualify for Europe’s elite competition.
And now Unai Emery has been handed just £45million to bolster his squad and has been told that the budget is so low because of an impending £50m pre-tax loss for the previous year,
Arsenal have already released the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Aaron Ramsey, Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck but Emery is under increasing pressure to sell one of their highest earners – Mesut Ozil.
The German international is earning £350,000-a-week wages which have limited Emery’s ability to reinforce the squad.
Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray would all love to sign Ozil but are unable to afford his wages.
