Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko named Mohamed Salah as the toughest opponent he has faced on the pitch.
In a chat on Rio Ferdinand's FIVE YouTube channel, the Ukrainian explained that Salah has been challenging to handle and admitted former Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum played a huge role in helping the Egypt international during their encounters.
During Manchester City's 2019 Community Shield against Liverpool at Wembley, Pep Guardiola's side won the match on penalties, with Zinchenko scoring one of the spot-kicks, while Wijnaldum missed for Liverpool.
Despite the victory, Zinchenko emphasized the difficulty he faced dealing with Salah, who has become a modern-day legend at Anfield, boasting an impressive record of 186 goals and 74 assists in 305 appearances for Liverpool.
“I think it’s Salah,” the 26-year-old told Ferdinand when asked about his toughest opponents.
“With all my respect to the rest, to Riyad (Mahrez) as well because I played against when he was at Leicester (City). He’s (Salah) an absolutely explosive and unstoppable winger."
