Virgil van Dijk had 65-game record ended during Liverpool's defeat to Man City

Manchester City won the Community Shield on penalties after edging Liverpool in a game at Wembley. Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk dribbled past for the first time in 65 competitive games. The 27-year-old went the entire 2018/2019 without being beaten by an opposing attacker, with stars such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Eden Hazard and Cristiano Ronaldo among the many players who failed to get the better of the Dutch international. However, that impressive streak came to an end on Sunday after the centre-back was rounded by Gabriel Jesus.
