Rio Ferdinand has heavily criticized Virgil van Dijk for the mistake he made for Luis Suarez’ opener.
Luis Suarez lost Van Dijk in the box and deflected Jordi Alba’s cross past Alisson to give Barca the lead at the Nou Camp on Wednesday.
Lionel Messi then scored two more goals to give his side the desired advantage.
However, Ferdinand feels Barcelona’s opener changed the game and that Van Dijk was at fault.
"Virgil van Dijk…he’s at fault,’ Ferdinand told BT Sport. "He can see Suarez there, he’s pointing where he wants it. It’s not rocket science. ‘He’s right in front of him – that’s your man – the no9 on the back of his shirt. Static. Virgil van Dijk there was static. It’s criminal. ‘In that position he has to be Matip’s eyes and ears. He’ll be disappointed with that."
