Virgil van Dijk insists Manchester United clash is not Liverpool’s biggest match of the season

Manchester United V Liverpool remains the biggest rivalry in English soccer. However, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk believes the match is now bigger for the fans than players. Liverpool head to Old Trafford at the top of the Premier League and 15 points clear of their fierce rivals. "It's massive, but it's more massive for the fans. I think all of the Champions League games are as big as this," Van Dijk told Sky Sports. "The whole atmosphere and leading to the actual game is bigger than some other games but I don't think it's the biggest of the season. The big ones are the Champions League and the ones that are hopefully going to win us the Premier League title." Van Dijk also insists Liverpool will not be complacent when they face a Manchester United team missing two of its best players this weekend. “For them, it is not the ideal situation to lose your first-choice goalkeeper, one of the best in the world, and one of their main midfielders,” the Liverpool defender said. “They will be disappointed but for us, we just want to focus on ourselves. They’re not in the best way, they’re not fully confident and they’re not in the situation they want to be in. But the good thing about football is you can bounce back in any game.” The game takes place on Sunday, October 20 at Old Trafford. Join Us on Telegram! Follow Us on Twitter! Like Us on Facebook!
