Golden State Warriors’ players show they needed Stephen Curry in preseason 126-93 loss to Los Angeles Lakers.
Warriors’ superstar missed the game as coach Steve Kerr had given him time to rest.
In this post-Kevin Durant era, Golden State will only go as far as Curry’s limitless brilliance takes it until Klay Thompson returns from a torn ACL after the All-Star break.
“It’s obviously harder when you have guys missing,” said D’Angelo Russel in a post-match interview, “but it’s something you can’t dwell on.”
“I think we’ve done OK given the injuries we have,” said Draymond Green. “There’s a lot of moving parts for us.”
The good news for Golden State is that Alec Burks (ankle), Willie Cauley-Stein (foot), Kevon Looney (hamstring), Glenn Robinson III (flulike symptoms) and Omari Spellman (back) are expected back soon and hopefully will be ready for the season.
