Tottenham fans have an interesting theory about what happens when Eric Dier doesn't play. On Sunday Spurs beat Burnley with thrashing 4-0 and kept a clean sheet. Despite playing 90 minutes in last week's 4-0 win over Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League, Dier was dropped to the bench for the visit of the Clarets. Toby Alderweireld teamed up with Davinson Sanchez in central defence and Spurs kept another Premier League clean sheet - with the most recent being the 2-0 win over West Brom last month which the England international also didn't start in. This has prompted fans to suggest the 27-year-old may be the reason for the Jose Mourinho's side's leaky defence.
