Which Chelsea players could miss Bournemouth clash on Sunday

Chelsea are set to return to domestic action as the club will head to Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on Sunday, September 17.

The Blues received some positive injury updates on Tuesday, with Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja showing signs of improved fitness.

Mudryk had briefly caused concern during Ukraine's 1-1 draw with England, but he appeared to be recovering well as he played against Italy after being substituted late in the European Championship qualifier. Another major boost is that the Londoners might finally see the return of Armando Broja, who has been sidelined for nearly 10 months.

Despite the positive updates, Mauricio Pochettio's team is concerned about the fitness of Romeo Lavia, who had to leave training due to an ankle injury over the weekend. Reports suggest he could be out of action for at least six weeks.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku and Reece James continue to be sidelined with no immediate return in sight. The Frenchman is expected to remain out until the end of the year, while the England international has been absent since the first game of the season against Liverpool.

On a negative note, midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has also joined the injury list after sustaining a knee injury in the 3-1 loss to West Ham United, as he is expected to miss another month.

Wesley Fofana is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an ACL injury. While Benoit Badiashile has returned to training during the international break, and Trevoh Chalobah is working on improving his fitness.
