Why Erling Haaland injury could be good news for Manchester United

Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland is reportedly set to miss the next Bundesliga clash with Paderborn on Sunday, which could be good news for Manchester United. The 19-year-old sustained a knee injury during Dortmund’s 1-0 loss to title rivals Bayern Munich on Tuesday. Haaland could miss the clash against the relegation strugglers, which can give an opportunity to United transfer target Jadon Sancho, who is yet to start a match since the Bundesliga returned on May 16 having been frustrated by a calf injury. The England forward has come on in all three Dortmund matches since the return, though has only managed 81 minutes of action in total. However, with Haaland set to miss Sunday’s match, Dortmund boss Lucian Favre may be forced into starting Sancho, and the Red Devils would be able to scout the 20-year-old with all eyes on the Bundesliga so far.
