After defeat to Everton, Arsenal are preparing for the Europa League quarterfinal clash against Napoli on Thursday, April 11.
The Gunners centre-back Laurent Koscielny has suffered an injury in the Europa League win over Rennes in mid-March and he missed Sunday defeat 1-0 at Goodison Park.
“We were waiting to see if Laurent could play today but yesterday morning we knew it wasn't possible,” said boss Unai Emery in his press conference following the game.
However, the Spaniard is hopeful Koscielny will return for the game against Napoli: ”I want to be positive for Thursday, it depends how he is progressing.”
Granit Xhaka, who suffered an injury during the international duty for Switzerland has also missed Arsenal’s defeat. Emery suggested he could doubt for the Europa League quarterfinals.
Konstantinos Mavropanos, meanwhile, tweeted that he was “on the right track”.
Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are still recovering after surgeries.
